In 1800, the records would be Edgefield Co. or Abbeville Co. The Old Edgefield Dist was separate from Old Abbeville Dist and they were original Districts formed from the Old 96th District. It was not until 1895 and after that the other counties were formed from Edgefield and Abbeville: Saluda Dist was formed, and in 1897 part of Edgefield and part of Abbeville were formed into Greenwood. In 1916, part of Abbeville and part of Edgefield became McCormick Co. So records as early as 1830 would be in Edgefield Co. SC.
