RE the posting below from Susan (Bypass1988): I'm curious as to your source of James Eidson's wife being Mary Humphreys. Hadn't seen that before. Is that family history? Or is there an Edgefield County record somewhere? In case you're interested: Sarah Salter was born 16 Mar 1807 and died 17 Jun 1885. Her husband William Malachi Rodgers was born 15 June 1808 and died 22 May 1894. Both are buried in a small family cemetery in the woods just off road 252 in Saluda Co SC. Dates are from the tombstones. Sarah's brother James Gideon Salter married William Rodgers' sister Telitha. He apparently was living in 1847 (when the real estate of his grandfather James Eidson, deceased, was sold); and Telitha had remarried by 1849. I assume he died in that period. My interest in the Eidson and Salter families is from these intermarriages with my Rodgers family. And I had thought there might be some earlier connections as well.
