There is a John Strain, age 30, in the 1860 census, Lancaster County, Pleasant Hill Post Office, listed as a farmer. The others in the household are: Mary, 27 Nelly, 11 William, 8 Lousinder [Lucinda ?], 7 James, 5 Richard, 1 Does this sound familiar?? If you have access to the census, you can look it up.
