    1. [SC] Union Co CLARK family c.1796-1820
    2. I am looking for descendants of a CLARK family who lived in Union County. The father of this family (Quakers) died in 1796. His name was John and he was the son of Henry Clark and Elizabeth Underhill. We find documentation of this family in the Bush River Quaker meeting mins. as follows: John Clark and wife Mary and children as follows: Elizabeth b. 6-20-1767, Henry b. 3-28-1769, Rachel b. 9-16-1771, hester b. 9-6-1773, John b. 1-15-1776, Thomas b. 8-1-1780, Mary b. 4-13-1783, and Jonathan b. 2-26-1785. Daughter was born ab.t 1786. When the father died he left land on Padgetts Creek to his sons John and Henry, money and the promise of land from his brother Henry to Thomas, money to his daughters, and the promise of land to his son Jonathan. he left the land he was living on to his wife. But, in 1805, when many Quakers left that area, Mary took her three youngest, Jonathan, Mary, and Rebukay and moved to Ohio. I have found documentation of a Henry, a Joh, and a Thomas CLARK living in Union county on the 1800 census. Then in 1810 Henry doesn't show up but John and Thomas do. By 1820 I don't find any of them living in Union Co. Does anyone have information on this family? I plan to try and "follow the land" for this family and that may help. Please let me know if you have other ideas. Sandy [email protected]
