I am searching for the place of birth for a Wiley Johnson. The 1860 census of Gordon County, GA lists the family as follows-- Wiley Johnson age 33 born SC Avilla age 33 born SC Louisa age 12 born SC Catherine age 8 born SC Elbridge age 3 born SC Emma age 2 born SC The age of Louisa would indicate the family would have been in SC for the 1850 census. I have been unable to find them in that census. I cannot find a marriage for Wiley and Avilla ?? listed on Ancestry.com or any of the SC marriages I have found on the net. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. Perhaps those on the list know of other marriage records for SC or may know something of this Johnson family. I would appreciate very much any help or suggestions for finding the place of birth in SC for Wiley. Thank you.

Sue, I found a Wiley Johnson in Chesterfield Co SC 1850 census. Age off by abt 5 yrs but could be yours. The first 2 kids could be step-chidren.
