Known Children of Wade Hampton Thomas and Mary F. Boswell: i. Mary Matilda Judith Thomas b. ca. 1854 AL This couple lived in SC ca.1800-1835. From a study of census information, I believe I have narrowed their location to one of three counties: Edgefield, Newberry or Horry. The Horry County family looks the most promising at this point. I have found a Gedcom which lists an Elizabeth Jane Sellers in Horry County,SC, b. 1809 m. Calvin Sellers. Her parents are listed as James Thomas b. 1782, NC; d. 2 Nov 1864, Pike Co., AL and Mary ( West (Wess) ?) b. 1799 (does not coincide with my data), d. 27 Aug. 1859, Pike Co., Al. After studying the Horry Co., AL census for 1820 (p 142). The number of children and their sexes match up with what I have with the exception of one female child other than Elizabeth. The date of Elizabeth's birth also coincides with a large gap in the years of birth between two of my known Thomas children. If anyone is familiar with or can help with this Horry Co., SC Thomas line, I would love to hear from you and compare notes. I am looking for the parents of James and Mary, as well as other, as of yet, unknown children born to them. It is unknown at this time whether James and Mary Thomas m. in NC or SC. If anyone has any constuctive suggestions, I could sure use some about now...I seem to be have a really tough time finding much needed SC records. Thanks for taking the time to read!
