Dear List, I am researching Joseph (Guiseppe) Solomon (Ottolenghi) Ottolenghe who was an Italian Jew from England UK. He arrived in Georgia circa 1750/51 with his wife. In Georgia he was the super intendant of the Silk Industry, Catechist to the Negroes and a public servant & later senator of the colony in Colonial Georgia. He died in 1775. What i'm trying to find out is his wifes name & if he had children born in the Georgia or Savannah area between 1750-1775 or if he had children born in UK before his arrival. I also need an exact date of death in 1775 & possible burial place. Can anyone suggest where i might find possible shipping records into Georgia circa 1750/51? Would anyone have a copy of 'Deaths in the South Carolina Gazette 1732-1775' that they might be able to check for my Ottolenghe please? I'm also very interested in any early newspaper articles about Joseph Ottolenghe & his life in Georgia. Any help greatly appreciated.
