    1. [SC] "Norton"......
    2. Hello, I saw your post last week for a look-up from someone else on the S.C. list for Edgefield. You were looking for NORTON. I have the History of Edgefield book by John A. Chapman and in it, a Norton is mentioned, but no first name. " Fruit Hill is situated 12 miles north of Edgefield Court House and immediately on the direct road from Edgefield Court House to Newberry Court House. The country around Fruit Hill is level, but the drainage is good, from the fact that it is immediately on the ridge between the Savannah and the Saluda Rivers: in fact, in time of rain the water that falls on many houses, that on the East side runs to the Saluda and that on the West side to the Savannah. The country around Fruit Hill was originally settled by the Allens, Goodwins, Richardsons, Culpeppers, Bakers, Hollingsworths, Harrises, Huskey's, Landrums, NORTONS, and Hemslys." I know it gives no first names for the family, but I hope it helps. April. Shop online without a credit card http://www.rocketcash.com RocketCash, a NetZero subsidiary
