Dear James D Payne What information do you have on Handleys? Are these from before 1800 (I hope). I am looking for John Handley who was a land agent and guided several large groups of settlers from SC and NC to KY, and am also looking for his sister Mary who married Alexander Douglass, probably in the Union County -Lancaster County area. Their parents and siblings may also have moved to SC from VA. Thanks, Mary Harding ----- Original Message ----- From: "James D Payne" <paynejd@bellsouth.net> To: <SCROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 10:05 AM Subject: [SC] Payne's, Paine's, Brailsford's, Reid's, Porteous', Smith's, Handley's, Ponder's, McKee's, Strain's, Bellinger, Gantt's, Bridgham's > Subject: Names listed in my Family Payne's, Brailsford's, > Reid's,Porteous', > Smith's, Handley's, Ponder's, McKee's, Strain's, Bellinger's, Gantt's, > Bridgham's > From: Jimmy E-Mail: paynejd@bellsouth.net > Date: September 25, 2005 > > > Hello Researchers, > does any one have any of these names in the Family Tree? > > In Charleston, SC, is where this family lived.
