I am a disabled person who because of my disabilities can no longer do conventional research. Fortunately, I got most of my mail lines finished before I became disabled. But, I can still use my computer and I find that Ancestry.com is HEAVEN SENT! Are there errors, sure. But the correct information far outweighs the false. Most of their information is referenced and if you think the info in incorrect, check the reference for yourself. Usually an email address is present and you can contact a contributor to check the info you find. Mostly, I stick to the Census to fill in my bare spots. But, I have learned to check the Census for myself, because occasionally the transcription is incorrect. I have also used Ancestry's British/Ireland databases. Recently, using info from Ancestry, I obtained a copy of a will from the 1500's. I got the reference from Ancestry and then wrote to Derbyshire England and they supplied the records. As far as price goes, I paid 99.00 a year for the Census and have gotten 9000.00 worth of info from them. Plus I get to help other people. So, I'm happy. Linda
