    3. Someone was inquiring about the Hammonds in SC. I was looking at some of my Smith relatives in Anderson District SC in the 1860 census. Having been raised in this area and knowing the make up of the people in that area of Anderson Co, SC, mainly the Lebanon Community, I found the following showing apparently who owned what was formerly known as the "Hammond's place" located just west of Nimrod T. Smith's home, formerly residence of John Perry Major. My recollection is from talk about the Hammond's place, when I was growing up, is that it was built in the 1850s. It has now burned down. I do have some old pictures of the home. If anyone interested let me know.
