If someone has access to the 1850 census for Hardeman County, Tenn., I'd very much appreciate a lookup of my ggg grandfather. Wesley MAULDIN, b. 1795 in South Carolina; d. Hardeman County, Tennessee (1859). He would have been about 55 years old in 1850. He might be listed as James or James Wesley. I saw an 1850 index that listed a Mouldin. Don't know if that is my man or not. Mauldin is consistently misspelled in census records. Mauldin, Moldin, Maulden, Molden, Mouldin, Moulden, on and on. (Sooooo frustrating!)
