Believe my GGG Grandmother, Nancy Chapman French was a daughter of Giles Chapman of Newberry County, but have not been able to really nail down the facts. Nancy lived in Arkansas and I am descended from a daughter, Frances French Bagley of Independence County. Frances died in 1853. Have found lots of information on early Chapmans and am still trying to make a definite connection to Giles and his line back to Yorkshire, England. Thanks for your message and have a great New Year!
