He had grandsons named Lemuel T. and Thomas Lem Winn. I suspect they are related to Thomas Lemuel Winn b. c. 1798 in Abbeville Co., SC OR H. Lafeyette Winn b. c. 1813 in Edgefield Co., SC. Hi Melanie, I am a descendant of the Rev. Thomas Lemuel Winn, b. 27 Jan. 1798 in Abbeville District, SC, d. 9 Oct 1830 in Camden District, SC, m. (1) 19 Nov. 1823, Sarah Harriet McFarlane (b. 1 June, 1803, d. 27 Feb. 1827 in Charleston, SC in childbirth, daughter of Alexander McFarlane and Catherine Statler); m (2) 1829, Sarah J. Cook. TLW had two children by his first wife: the first was born 27 Aug. 1824 and died in the Spring of 1826; the second child was Alexander McFarlane Winn (called Aleck), b. 20 Jan. 1827, Charleston, SC, d. 30 Jan. 1850, Columbus, GA, m. 30 Jan. 1850 in Columbus, GA, Maria Catherine Howard. TLW was one of 12 children, none of whom are the connection you seek. His father was Lemuel Winn (b. 1770 in Lunenburg, VA, d. 1840 in Walton County, GA). His grandfather was Thomas Winn (b. c. 1740 in VA, d. 1797 in Abbeville District, SC). I can take you back to Robert Wynne, St. Georges, Canterbury, England in the 1500s but I can find no connection for you.
