    3. http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/volunteer.htm Here is the URL to volunteer. You can choose to transcribe, or proofread, or even become a coordinator. They are working on teams as well. You can find out everything you need to know here. Click on each link to see what is expected and what you might want to try doing. I know there is a great shortage of proofreaders right now. There are many ways to get a copy of the census records to help transcribe or proofread. good luck, Tina Hall -----Original Message----- From: Joanne Harley [mailto:harleyclan@coastalnet.com] Sent: Sunday, February 25, 2001 6:23 PM To: SCROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SC] CENSUS TRANSCRIBING, A BETTER WAY O.K. I do not work, and I'm at home most of the time. I would be glad to transcribe some pages but I need some information. Is there a list somewhere that tells which ones have been transcribed, and which ones need to be transcribed and where are they? How do I get the census to be transcribed? I have only been on the computer for about two years, so I do not know a lot about converting things to different forms, etc. I would be glad to help if it is something I can handle. Just show me the way!!! I'm working in Marlboro , Chesterfield,Barnwell and surrounding counties primarily, but will be glad to do anything that will help. 3. Just to put "all" the info out there..... the following url, provided earlier, is for the Archives Census project volunteers...if I am not mistaken....and they just changed their name which makes it more confusing..... http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/volunteer.htm The origninal USGenWeb Census Project was moved from Rootsweb, due to some problems, and is now on the GenNet server and you can find out about this project and how to volunteer at the following url... The USGenWeb Census Project http://www.us-census.org/ You should read "all the details" at each site and decide for yourself.....there are some differences...I only want to make sure that everyone has all the info.available to them and not just parts of it....
