    3. Hello All, Have found reference to the following Sharp's who became deceased for one reason or another during the War of Northern Aggression and looking for more information on them and the two ladies listed after them. J. Sharp (possible this is J. D., but I am not sure nor do I know anymore than Newberry County, J. D Sharp, served in DePass' Artillery Company and Preston Sharp, served in DePass' Artillery Company. Also have reference to a Mrs. W. S. Sharpe (NFI) who was an exhibitor on the Newberry County Fair Grounds. The second lady is Mrs. Lucy (Welch) Sharp, sister of William and Williams Welch who came to Newberry County from Iredall County, NC. She came to South Carolina in 1850 and died in 1856. She had two children, William, one of Anderson's best citizens, and Mrs. Neville, wife of Rev. Mr. Neville of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Source document for these is: THE ANNALS OF NEWBERRY, SOUTH CAROLINA (PARTS 1 & 2) - John Belton O'Nell, LL. D & John A. Chapman, A. M. (1892) Also have information on Vashti (Sharp) ((Gaines)) Burress if anyone is interested in her. She is the daughter of Robert Clemons Sharp and Est(h)er Hawthrone. Have a Nice day :-) walt ============================================= "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." reported to have been said by Edmund Burke
