First let me apologize if you receive this more then once for I am posting this to many lists. I had hope to help some in offering to send maps but because some of you that just cant stand for some to try to be nice I wasnt trying to make money off this offer even though these books are costly, so at this time I have decided not to send any of these maps due to the mean petty people that have bombard me with copywrite laws, I just wish there was some way to keep these same mean people from using my many FREE websites. I am terribly sorry for any problems this has caused. and after this post I will no longer be subscribing to the list I am finished with trying to help others there are just to many mean petty people out there. now the many folks that I have helped in the past and any new folks that I might be able to help in the future please feel free to email me personally. Hello! I'm looking for anyone researching Mr. O.H. SPENCER (of Cheraw, SC) or his son Thomas. Thomas was wounded in a Civil War battle fought in Virginia (late fall, 1861 near Louisa Court House) and my GOOCH ancestors cared for him. I have correspondence from Mr. Spencer to my g-g-grandmother which may be of interest to you. - Kim Sweeney Ksweeney@epicsystems.com

My 4th great-grandparents were Robert Grant, M.D. and Sarah Foxworth, who were married 1799 at Waterfield Plantation near Sampit, South Carolina. Robert's Revolutionary War record indicates that he was a confederate associated with General Francis Marion, and his family Bible cites his line back to about 1700 at Leith, Scotland. But we know almost nothing about Sarah's Foxworth line, though I assume they were from the Georgetown area or Charleston. Any leads or clues will be appreciated. Jim Johnson
I have a theory about John Mikell husband of Ann Ball and wanted to kick it around and see if anyone else had checked it out. In 1785 John and Ann sold their land in Marlboro District. The shows the name spelled both ways Mikell and Michael. The memorials show a Johannes Adam Michael moving to the Pee Dee River area. A year or so lated John Michael has memorials in his name. My theory is that Johnannes Adam is John Mikells father. And that the family ties back to Johnannes Adam Micheal who married Elizabeth Thorowgood about 1660 in Virginia. I haven't been able to trace the family forward in time. The first couple of generations are included in the First Families of Virginia publication "Adventurers of Purse and Person". Has anyone else found this "connection" and pursued it, to see if there is a link between the families? Deborah Byrd

To access the records at http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/Palmetto you must scroll to the bottom of the index page and 'click' on the applicable link. The names and dates posted on the index page are simply a listing of what has been posted lately....theyre not the record. Jim Johnson
Youre invited to examine the postings at http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/Palmetto for newspaper accounts of SC deaths & marriages. The site is less then 2 weeks old. Five to 10 new postings are made almost daily. On this site are links to my Florida and Georgia sites. The Florida site has close to 4,000 postings, and the Georgia site, maybe 1500....not including burials at Savannah, which adds many more to the total. Jim Johnson
