My mother attended Columbia High during those years. I don't know if she still has a yearbook. But, I do know she has pictures from her younger years. She still lives in Columbia and probably could tell us how to reach some of her old schoolmates living in the Columbia area. Let me know if you still need help. I am looking for information on the family of Thomas Fluewelling and Wife Abigail who arrived in SC 1671. Believe that they were from Barbados and the parents of John Fluewellin who died 1730 in Prince Fred. Winyaw. Believe that John was the father of Deborah Fluewellen who married Braton Singletary in St. T&D parish 1711. A Thomas and A. Fluelin had a son Jonathan 1655 in Barbados. Deborah Byrd

Please excuse the multiple postings. If you have seen this, just delete it. About a month ago I bought the Land Grant Maps Book from the Union Co. Historical Foundation. This map book is a great buy for anyone who has multiple lines in Chester, Fairfield, Newberry, Union, Laurens, Spartenburg, and Greenville Counties. I had never heard about the book until an email genealogy friend of mine said that it was the best genealogy purchase that she has ever made. She was right!! Here is some information about the Land Grant Maps Book (22 in. by 16 in.). There are 24 maps in all that show the original land grants with names. The maps are usually dated in the mid to late 1700s to early 1800s. If your ancestor was born after 1815 or 1820, he was probably to young to have had an original land grant covered in the maps. However, some of the early deeds mention the original holder of the land grant. The maps cover parts (not all) of Union , Fairfield , Newberry, Laurens, Chester, Spartanburg, and Greenville Counties. If you have several families in these areas, it is certainly worth the buy. List of maps covered: Map 1--Neals Shoals- Union/Chester Counties Map 2--Carlisle, Fishdam Ferry, Feasterville-Union/Chester/Fairfield Counties Map 3--Whitmire--Laurens/Newberry Counties Map 4--Duncan's Creek--Laurens/Newberry/Union Counties Map 5--Kinard--Laurens/Newberry Counties Map 6--Brown's Crosswoods--Newberry County Map 7--Blairs-Strother--Newberry/Fairfield County Map 8--Wood's Ferry on Broad River--Union/Chester County Map 9--Sedelia--Union County Map 10-Cross Anchor--Spartanburg/Union Counties Map 11-Goodwin X-Roads--Laurens/Spartanburg/Union Counties Map 12-Clinton--Laurens County Map 13-Watts Mill--Laurens County Map 14-Enoree--Laurens/Spartanburg Counties Map 15-Two Mile Creek--Spartanburg County Map 16-Enoree River--Spartanburg/Laurens Counties Map 17-Gray Court-Owings--Laurens County Map 18-Durbin Creek--Greenville/Laurens Counties Map 19-Horse Pen Creek--Greenville/Spartanburg/Laurens Counties Map 20-Woods Chapel--Spartanburg County Map 21-Roper Mountain--Greenville County Map 22-East Maulden--Greenville County Map 23-Paris Mountain--Greenville County Map 24-Travelers Rest--Greenville County Costs: $40 plus $2 for shipping the first book; $1 for each additional book. Orders should be addressed to: Union County Historical Foundation P. O. Drawer 220 Union, SC 29379 I am not a member of the Union Historical Foundation, but wanted people on the lists to know about this great resource. Susan -- Susan C. I need some help with the boundries of Aiken and Aiken County. First of all, what county would Aiken have been in the early 1880's, around Town Creek Baptist Church if anyone knows that area. That area is where I am most interested in. Also, if anyone has heard of Talatha. The context it was given, there is a burial plot that says it is Talatha, and I know those graves are located at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, I saw them this week end. I don't know if that was/is an area in Aiken Co, or what. Someone asked me about it and I know it is familiar, but don't know why. Anyone that can help with either of these, please contact me off list. Thank you. Beth
Does anyone know where I might find this book: Carolina Herald, Volume 18, Issue 3 September 1990. According to Ancestry.Com it has some info on George Washington Gibson. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated, Derrell Oakley Teat
