Hello All, I have posted this to other lists and I'm sorry if you receive this more than once. Is there a roster of the men who served in Co.E, 1st Orr's SC Rifles? I'm searching for Edward J Hunnicutt b 1845, his obit says he was a veteran. All census records says b GA, but can't find him there. So maybe born SC. Thank you for suggestions/information you can provide. Derrell Oakley Teat
I am looking for my living relatives. I do not have resources readily available to me here, but maybe some of you do. I could use some help locating descendants of Noah Smith who married Mary Ann Young (b. 1837, Williamsburg Co., SC). I guess they were married between 1865 and 1870. It is rumored they had at least 2 children, but I do not know their names. Mary Ann Young was the daughter of my ggg-grandfather. I am not sure where they lived after they got married. Mary Ann Smith was in Williamsburg Co., SC in 1910, widowed and living with her sister. If you are a descendant or you know someone who is, please e-mail me. Any help would be appreciated. Melanie

One of the lines I am researching is the James family of Florence/Williamsburg Counties. I'm trying to locate a "Missing Person". Rev. Thomas Edward James was the son of Rev. Samuel C. James. Thomas James married Milbrey Jane Thomas, who died in 1890. Milbrey is buried at Cockfield Landing Cemetery in Florence County, but Thomas isn't buried there. Thomas and Milbrey had at least 9 children, several of whom migrated to Florida. Others apparantly migrated to North Carolina. At some point after Mibrey's death, he married Julia Ellen Porter of Marion County. Thomas and Julia had at least two children - Bird Porter, born May 3, 1900, and T. (Thomas?) Humphrey born in 1896. Humphrey died in 1964 and is buried at High Hill Cemetery near Scranton. Porter died in 1963 and is buried in Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Thomas Edward was born around 1849. Julia was born in 1858. We basically have lost track of them after the birth of Bird Porter. Can anyone help? Does anyone know of a researcher who can search the State Archives for a Death Certificate? Thanks so much! --Lisa Lasky Tracing the James, Gause, Young, and Lynch families of lower Florence County

Hello All, I'm trying to help a friend trace his LATHAN (& variant spelling) roots & hope someone on this list can help. He's seeking the parents & grandparents of Furman LATHAN, b. ca 1925 in Greenwood, Greenwood County, SC. My local library here in FL doesn't have any SC census records later than 1880 and I've not found any on-line for Greenwood Co. I do know that Greenwood was formed in 1897 from Abbeville & Fairfield counties which were both formed in 1785 from Ninety-six District, an original county in 1769, so any records before 1897 would probably be in one of the parent counties. If anyone has any info on this family, or can point me in the right direction to find anything, please e-mail me at: bnorem@aol.com Thank you very much, Betty
William Green was a charter member of the 2nd charter of VA 1609...came to VA 1612, according to"History of Jones Co Ga 1807-1907" by Carolyn White Williams. Does anyone have further information about him such as who he married, their childrens' names, where his children lived after marrying? Edward,1707-1780, of Culpepper and Brunswick, Va, a lineal descendant of William Green, married Elizabeth (Betty) Powell 1709*1737. Edward appears to have had a son, John Calhoun Green, Col in War of 1812. Can anyone confirm or dispute this information? I appreciate any information you are willing to share. Thanks, Betty Green Polombo Havana, Florida
Would anyone have any information on the parents and/or siblings of James T. TRUESDALE [11 Oct 1892 - 21 May 1948]? I'm trying to fit him into the rest of my TRUESDALE people, but apparently need another generation or so to do this. His wife's name was Maggie [?] and she was born 3 Oct 1895. This couple is supposedly from the Chester/Kershaw Counties area. Bill Hughes kinseeker4@msn.com
