    2. Tree Mother, it seems that Charles (AKA Bonedigger) has added another piece to the puzzle which seems to indicate that your Mary Miller may well be the daughter of Margaret Seawright. 1. [SC] wonderful source for probate
    2. Glenna Kinard
    3. For those of you searching for probate records in Richland County, SC, you might try interlibrary loan for this fabulous volume: "General Index Court of Probate, Richland County, S. C., 1785-1955." I saw it this week and did not note the compiler, but it might have been Frances Ingmire. I looked it up at the Richland County Public Library website and it did not list the compiler, but said it was published by Peppercorn Press, 1998. RCPL had it listed with a slightly different title: "INDEX TO RICHLAND COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA PROBATE RECORDS, 1785-1955" (The wording of the title I first listed is the one I copied from the cover.) Hope this helps, Glenna ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Researching: (1) Porter, McCants, Cobb, Martin, Rawlinson, Gill, Higgins, Scott, Harrison, Fetner; (2) Bryant, McDade, Dillard, Tolleson, Wells, Baxter, Eaves; (3) Kinard, Wise, Thaxton, Vickers, Patton, Hubbard, Wilkins, Long/Lang, Latta (Branch 28), Mauldin, Dismukes. 3. For Helen Alexander, I don't have documentation on the Rev. War unit of Jacob Felder, but am wondering if you are familiar with the information about Hans Henry Felder, Sr., and his family in Marchant Culler's "Orangeburgh District, 1768 - 1868." Culler says that Henry "served as captain of a militia company in Orangeburgh District, probably Rowe's regiment." then, "Felder's seven sons - Henry, Jacob, John, Frederick, Samuel, Abraham, and Peter - also served in his company; John was captured by the British and killed while trying to escape." There's a total of about one and one-half pages of discussion of the Hans Henry Felder family, and especially their Rev. War activities, including his death during the fight when Tories burned his house. 3. Hi Pam, Surnames such as LOVE and ROACH can be difficult on the web because these are also common English words. If you go to Obituary Central, there is a suite of tools for researching obits, cemetery inscriptions, etc. One of the tools is called the WebWide Surname Locator. This tool finds your surnames on database surname pages across the web. See if this helps. http://www.obitcentral.com Bill

    3. I've been doing some email "spring-cleaning" lately. There was a folder of accumulated messages addressed to the Forum from people who were not subscribers at the time they were sent. The email server sends messages from non-subscribers directly to me. They are not sent to the forum. I have the server setup to do this because most of the messages from non-subscribers are spam. It helps keep the Forum email clean. But it puts an email load on my system. I sorted through the tons of accumulated spam and redirected the few worthwhile messages to the Forum. Most of them show in the from line that they were redirected. But, for some reason a few seem to have gone through as if they were directly from me. Please check the messages to see if they have an email address for replies. Steven J.
