I have been told that there is some info about a gentleman by the name of Francis Marion Clark, Jr. who was known as the "Grey Fox" during the Revolutionary War around Charleston, SC. Does anyone know where I can find more info on this? Sandy [email protected]
The FamilyHart Online Database was updated on 1/3/2004. 27,000 new names were added bringing a total of over 347,000 linked names online. Many of these names are found in the Piedmont and Valley areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia along what was once the "The Old Wagon Road". The url for the database is found below. Or is she Celia Roberts Harris' daughter?? Note: William Harris, age 21, most likely is the brother of Delila Harris Roberts.and probably the son of William Harris, born 1805?, by his marriage before Celia Roberts.or indeed the oldest son of William & Celia Roberts Harris. 1870 census Polk County, Florida (image is very hard to read): Family 35 Harris, William 65 male farmer SC (?Celia?) 58 female SC (Celia Roberts Harris) Tabitha 30? female SC (Tabitha Harris Douglass) (??Douglass??) 27 male SC (who is this man??) Harris household, is not living with the above family for the 1850 census.at the age of 20-25, he is probably "out on his own".and I suspect that this absent son is William H. Harris, who married Elizabeth "Betsy" Caroline Langdale, daughter of John C. Langdale & Jane Guthrie.I also suspect that this is the William Harris that is on the 1850 census for Columbia County, Florida, with the family of William J. Roberts. Note: Celia, wife of William Harris, is Celia Roberts, daughter of James I. Roberts & Temperance Davis. Note: Sarah A., daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married John W. Costine. Note: Tabitha, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Cader Douglas/Douglass. Note: Maria, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, is said to have never married.I suspect she did & am trying to find her on a census or other record with her husband or with her married name. Note: John, son of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Margaret E. Hancock. Note: Celia, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Benjamin Tyre. Note: Mary C., daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Richard T. Caddin. Note: Irvin O'Bryan Harris? married Susan Jane Glover. I am looking for descendants of a CLARK family who lived in Union County. The father of this family (Quakers) died in 1796. His name was John and he was the son of Henry Clark and Elizabeth Underhill. We find documentation of this family in the Bush River Quaker meeting mins. as follows: John Clark and wife Mary and children as follows: Elizabeth b. 6-20-1767, Henry b. 3-28-1769, Rachel b. 9-16-1771, hester b. 9-6-1773, John b. 1-15-1776, Thomas b. 8-1-1780, Mary b. 4-13-1783, and Jonathan b. 2-26-1785. Daughter was born ab.t 1786. When the father died he left land on Padgetts Creek to his sons John and Henry, money and the promise of land from his brother Henry to Thomas, money to his daughters, and the promise of land to his son Jonathan. he left the land he was living on to his wife. But, in 1805, when many Quakers left that area, Mary took her three youngest, Jonathan, Mary, and Rebukay and moved to Ohio. I have found documentation of a Henry, a Joh, and a Thomas CLARK living in Union county on the 1800 census. Then in 1810 Henry doesn't show up but John and Thomas do. By 1820 I don't find any of them living in Union Co. Does anyone have information on this family? I plan to try and "follow the land" for this family and that may help. Please let me know if you have other ideas. Sandy [email protected]

We are now in the process of updating our mailing lists (both email and snailmail) of those who are interested in hearing the latest developments. If you are interested in being added to our Newberry Quaker Cemetery list, or you know of others who might be, would you please contact me off-list? Thank you and look forward to hearing from you! Was she the wife of William Leo Guthrie? If so, then, their son John Simpson Guthrie married Winifred Isabel Park, who died in 1960, and they had two children (at least) John Jr. and Richard. If this is all correct, I am looking for information on the Park family and the whereabouts of John Jr. and Richard Guthrie. Can you help?
Hi I saw on a list I think this list someone looking for Behagan -Dungee. I have info for you Jean
Look at J. W. Nettles' family of 1880, Williamsburg Co., SC at www.familysearch.com. I think Carrie Bagnal, 21, daughter, listed there is probably the mother of Luther Bagnal that you are looking for. I will send you some more census data that has John J. Nettles, 30, in Clarendon in 1900 with Blanch Bagnal, 6, niece, in his household. This does not give you the name of J. W. Nettles, only his initials. This also does not give you the husband of Carrie, father of Blanche, etc., but it is a start.
