    3. Please forgive all the multiple postings that I am sure many of you are getting over and over. Just want to see that the info. gets out to all the areas of Old Edgefield dist. A couple of years ago before my mother got sick, I was going to the state archives once per week to work on transcribing probate records from the microfilm collection of Old Edgefield Dist probate. Not the wills from the will books, but the copies of the actual probate, some wills, some intestate, but all including additional information beyond what is available in just the will from the WPA typed transcriptions. I hope to get back there soon, as I found two unknown ancestors in the information, pairing up my research with Edgefield County Marriages 1769-1880 Implied in Edgefield County South Carolina Probate Records" by Barbara R. 3. I went to the site that Jean listed [http://www.usgenweb.com/thestates.html] I was very disappointed and contacted the coordinators. Will let you know what I found out. There is an Archives somewhere. I posted about 30 Probate records, transcribed in full from the microfilm collection at the State archives on some of the Edgefield families I was checking on. I also have 125 pages, about 3 death cert. and comments per page of death certificates that I have gotten. I would love to post them somewhere for folks to find any time they want to. But I can't even find the pages now. If anyone is working on Old Edgefield Dist counties of Saluda, Edgefield, Aiken, Greenwood, and McCormick Co., you need to subscribe to those lists. There are great posts there, and they may not be posting to SCROOTS of SC-Genealogy lists as well. I often forget to put those addresses in my address. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CdB.2ACE/112.2.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Hey everyone, my ears were burning <smile>. Actually I've been away from research for awhile dealing with a major household move during the holidays. One correction.....I am also descended through Jesse Lazarus McLeod's SECOND wife, Mary Rosa Ives. Margaret "Maggie" Josey was Jesse's first wife. Maggie died in childbirth with twins in 1894. Jesse and Mary Rosa were married later that year and had one child, Donald Ross McLeod. The Jesse L. about whom Dawn is inquiring was the child of one of Jesse and Maggie's children and here it gets interesting.....Jesse L was the son of Mary Rosa Ives McLeod 's uncle....so Dawn and I are related in at least two different ways in a clear visable way but a little further back.... Jesse L. the first's mother was a Josey grandchild (mother Martha Josey Yates) and the second cousin of Jesse's wife Maggie! If I can help in any way, please visit my website!
