Because of more pressing issues, the preservation/restoration of pioneer cemeteries are a very-very low priority with county board officials. (A state representative is really needed to "champion" a new preservation law) Boy Scouts who have now become Eagle Scout candidates, are really the ones who have responded to this community need! The Scout will typically use the cemetery restoration task to fulfill their Eagle leadership community project requirement. These kids do excellent work and they are always supervised by adults.
