(later Oconee Co.), SC 720/758 Joseph FINLEY, age 40, m, farmer, 1,000, all b. NC Malinda, age 35, f, Thomas, age 15, m, Jane, 13, f, Charles, age 11, m, Elbert, age 9, m, Joseph, age 7, m, James, age 5, m, (next to them) 721/760 Andrew FINLEY, age 21, m, farmer, all born NC Arminda FINLEY, age 21, f, Mary M., 1, f I noticed that there are a large number of families in this section born in NC, including a KELLY family on the other side of your FINLEY. Since some families move together, thought I would throw this in. There are at least six Elizabeth ALEXANDERs listed in 1850, and three of them are aged 13, 14, 15. He was married to Elizabeth Alexander (10/18/1839 - 10/10/1894). Charles and Elizabeth had a son named Joseph Alexander Finley (1871-1955). Charles served in Company C, 1st (Orr's) SC Rifles during the War Between the States. There were 3 other Finley's in Company C. They were Zachariah E. Finley, Thomas W. Finley, and Joseph H. Finley. On the 1860 SC census of SC (Cherokee P.O.), Pickens District, there is the following family. Joseph Fendley, 58, Farmer, NC Malinda Fendley, 48, NC Charles, 19, SC Zacheriah, 17, SC Joseph, 15, SC William, 11, SC Louisa, 7, SC Miles B., 5, SC Any help with this family appreciated.
