Oct 25th 1894 S.E.S.Stewart ( this is my ggrandmother,Sarah Elizabeth Susannah Stewart,who I think was a Holcombe?? before marriage) the letter goes: Dear Daughter I write you a few lines which leaves us in common health at this time.I was sorry to hear that you was sick.and in such circumstances the (unreadable) is in common health so far as I know. I will send you six dollars-to help you get back.I shall want it the first of January next if you can arrange to pay me-I have to raise money by that time-and everything is very low here-and money scarce-some of us will try and meet you at Liberty if you will let us know when you arrive. your Father W.W.Martin I have a second letter that I only have half of the sheet,but it is dated C.H.S.C.dated Nov 30th 1893 appears to be to son and daughter , What I can make out,mentions the name McBruce apparently this was to inform them of a judgement that some one holds,and something being done before W.W.Martin found it out. signed hoping to hear from you W.W.Martin I do not know if W.W.Martin was related to Daniel Carter Stewart and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Susannah Holcombe?Stewart or simply addressed them as son and daughter.They were born about 1842,I think I read somewhere that W.W.Martin was born about 1829? I have another old letter in which it appears that Sarah Elizabeth Susannah was stating that Samuel Holcombe was her father. I believe that Sarah Elizabeth Susannah Stewart may have been a schoolteacher at one time and wondered if she had any connection to a school on Martin School rd.off Mile creek rd.(where Daniel Carter and Susannah Stewart once lived and are buried in a family plot there.)
