all my life i have been told a story of GIBBS hole ( not sure if it was first name or last ). GIBBS hole is a wonderful fishing spot on the pickens county side of the saluda river near old hunts bridge road (on the property of my grandparents. )GIBBS and another man was making moonshine when the law showed up. one person was killed and buried under a tree. ( unsure if it was GIBBS partner or a law man ) GIBBS escaped and jumped into the saluda river from a rocky point and was never seen again. he is thought to have been washed under the bank in the turn of the river and drowned. anyone who knows the full extent of this story please tell me the details ! i have grown up hearing this story and all the people who knew names and details are all passed away. anyone kin to GIBBS or the other person who was killed contact me and i can show you were the grave is and where GIBBS jumped off into the river.
