I have two marriages that supposedly took place in Pickens, SC: Peter Pickney Chapman m. Martha Emeline Manley on 6 Jan 1850 James Smith m. Susan Dowis Chapman prior to 1850 census (they're on the census together) I got this information from the LDS site and would like to "prove" it. The site gave as it's source "Patron Records". It's my understanding that Patron records are submitted information rather than transcriptions of actual court records. Where would I begin looking to get actual records of the marriages? Does Pickens have marriage records for this time period? Thanks for any and all information, Sandy
