Strange, someone on another list requested info for Eastatoe. I got permission from the person who posted this, to pass it on. See below. Hope this helps. Dianne EASTATOE is a legal township designation bordering on the South Carolina State line. If memory serves me, Eastatoe Township is bordered on the east by Dunn's Rock Township, on the north by Cathey's Creek Township and again on the north by Gloucester Township, and to the west is Hogback Township. The town of Rosman sits at the northern edge of Eastatoe township and highway 178 from Rosman to South Carolina pretty much runs right down the middle of it, dividing it in half north to south. If you find Rosman on a map and look at highway 178 leaving Rosman headed south, you will be looking at Eastatoe Township. It was named after the Eastatoe Indian Trading Trail that runs through that area (again, if memory is correct). [
