    3. Thanks for sending the info on the BOREN family, and yes, they tend to become BOWENs. There is still a doctor in the area who is a BOREN though so not everyone of them left Pickens Co., SC. Did I send you the info on the BORENs fr. the 1800 Enhanced Census of Pendleton Dist., SC?? It may be helpful. Let me know abt this, and I'll send you a report of whatever I have. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to Easley where my dad lives to take him back to his cancer dr. on Wed., and will be back the end of the week. I think we discussed the Boren's before and you sent some info via one of the lists. But, I would be happy to see any other info you may have on them. Abigail Boren Chappell is one of my major brickwalls (and I have a few of them!!!!!) The Boren's had a tendency to change their name to Bowen. I have some court documents that Marilyn Boren sent me on some Boren's in Pickens Co from the mid to late 1800's. Her husband's ancestor is another Boren that we cannot place, Sarah Boren (abt 1812, SC-abt 1870, Pickens Co, SC) She never married but had three daughters. She is closely allied with Powell Riggins and he actually left her more money in his will than his own children. So, we have 3 Boren's that we cannot place-Abigail (Jul 1812, SC-aft 1900, Pickens Co, SC), James (abt 1803, SC-bef 1870, Pickens Co, SC), and the above Sarah. I somehow think they are siblings as Abigail and James both married Chappell's. James and Delilah Chappell Boren were the grandparents of the Rev. William Clingman Boren. These families are in court documents together and their families intermarried. I just wonder if they could be Anderson's and if one of the Boren's that were in Pendleton District in the late 1700's-early 1800's married an Anderson. It is possible. Take care and send me what you can on the Boren's. I will pass it on to Katie Gillespie, Marilyn Boren and Lyn Lewis and maybe with all 5 of us working on it, we may come up with something. I also am in contact with some of James and Delilah Chappell Boren's descendants as they married into some of my other lines. Patricia A.
