Hi Mary, I looked up Samuel Reid/Reed in A Collection of Upper South Carolina Genealogical and Family Records Vol. 1 and the first listing for him that I went to on page 104 was a Sheriff Deed and it started out "I Samuel Reed former sheriff of Pickens Dist...." and this was dated 12 Apr. 1834. Hope this helps to assure you that he was indeed a Sheriff of Pickens Co., SC Cheryl White cherylw@prexar.com My Home Page http://www.angelfire.com/me/geneal ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary R Mungo" <mrmungo@InfoAve.Net> To: <SCPICKEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2003 4:26 PM Subject: [SCPICKENS] Samuel Reid [Reed] > I've been told that Samuel Reid, b 1802 d 1872, was a sheriff of Pickens > County but have not seen any evidence of that.
