I have tried to find some Gillespies in the 1860 US Census Index (AIS) on www.ancestry.com. When I do a search for them I don't pull up any (using Soundex for them also) from upstate of SC.. I know they are there. Does anyone know how/where I could search an index for these counties. Then I could look up the censuses on-line. I truly don't want to do a page-by-page of 3 or 4 counties :).
