    3. I am not working on the Parson Family, but think I might be able to help a little. I am working on the Mote Family and would like to have more info. on this Mote family. First of all, Lucy Mote, head of house, was listed in the 1850 Habersham Co., Ga. census as age 54, born in Ga., with family; V.A. More (Mote), 18, F, Ga.; M.C. Mote, 15, F., Ga.; Wm. N. Mote, 10, M, Ga.; S.E. Mote, 9, F., Ga.; and H.M. More (Mote), 8, F., Ga. Also listed in 1850 Habersham Co., Ga. was (I believe these are also Lucy's sons') are: James C. Mote, head of house, age 35, Sarah C. age 20, L.E., F., age 1 (James C. Mote married Sarah C. Smith on July 6, 1848 in Franklin Co., Ga.) and John Mote, head of house, age 21, N.C., no age given (John T. Mote married Nancy C. Smith on December 9, 1849 in Franklin Co., Ga.), all were born in Ga. Banks County, Ga. was formed in 1858 from Franklin and Habersham Counties. Lucy, James and John Mote were in the part of Habersham Co. that became Banks County and were listed in the 1860 census there. Harriet Mote was listed as age 16, living with her mother, Lucy. In "The History of Banks County, Georgia 1858 - 1976" by Jessie Julia Mize, Bill of Appraisal, property of Lucy Mots, deceased. Made 30 Jan. 1864. Appr: Elias Sosebee, Leonard Smith, W.S. Scales, W.C. Chambers, Robert Davison. Alloted to Harriet Motes. All of the following info came from "The History of Banks County, Georgia (1858 - 1976)". Oliver Parsons married Harriet M. Mote on August 12, 1864 in Banks Co., Ga. He was married previously to Louisa C. (?) according to 1860 census. Oliver W. Parsons was in; CO H 34 Regiment GA Volunteer Inf. Army of Tenn. CSA. 1860 census of Banks County, Ga.: Oliver W. Parson, head of house, age 27, b. Ga.; Louisa C. age 24, b. Ga.; Merryweather M. age 2, b. Ala.; Mary R. age 1, b. Miss.; James C.B. age 2/12, b. Ga. Harris Parson, head of house, age 55, b. SC; Mary age 50, b. SC; Maryweather age 24, b. Ga. Joseph Parson, head of house, age 29, b. Ga.; Manerva C. age 36, b. Ga.; George W.C.R. age 12, b. Ga.; Stephen H. age 9, b. Ga.; Mary C. age 8, b. Ga.; Joseph W. age 6, b. Ga.; Pheba H. age 3, b. Ga.; Nansy A. age 2, b. Ga.; Claborn E. age 10/12, b. Ga. William Parson, head of house, age 36, b.
