Hi Delores, I have found Daniel McKInney in the 1860 census of Pickens Co. He was 13 and also there was Rachel McKinney age 50 listed as farmer.i think she is Daniel mother and possibbly Daniel that was 74's daughter-i-law. Daniel was in the civil war my aunt told me.he joined at the age of 14 and go his ear shot off. I am new at this,and trying to find out who his dad was. The D M Mckinney and Rebecca Cothran is my Daniel.I know about Rebecca's side of the famiy.rachel bought some land from dan mckinney a probate judge ordered the sale on sept.27,1858 and sale was held on nov.20,1858 still in pickens co.can you check this out for me or tell me where to check? For the best way to find this, write the Probate Judge's Office at the Pickens Co. Court House, Pickens, SC, and give them the names and dates you have in your email. That should get you a copy. Send a couple of dollars to cover copying and postage. That will make it move faster. I will check my books to see if I have anything on them, but it may be a couple of weeks. I've got to get everything ready and deliver my son to Clemson Univ. on Thurs. of this week; won't be back until at least Wed. of next week.
