    1. [SCPICKENS] Joshua Cox
    2. I informed the Pickens researchers about old records in the basement at Pickens Co. Courthouse. There appeared to be an interest in someone attempting to index and file these records correctly. I went through nearly every file drawer when I was there looking for a particular record and thought I had found it. What I found was a suit by JOHN PULLIAM and YOUNG DAVIS against JOSHUA COX. It looks like Cox was written over Jones on the settlement cover sheet. JOSHUA Y. JONES also signed a "copy bill" dated 1842 at the bottom of the settlement sheet against JOSHUA COX. Suit was filed 1842 and settlement was made 1843. My distant cousin and his son were there last week and found the following. He said the Old Ledger on the bottom shelf read on page 137 - Joshua Y. Jones vs. Joshua Cox, dated April 14, 1845. CASE #485. He found the envelope #485, but the wrong case was inside. If someone would be so kind, when you are there - if you run across this case, we would like to have the information. We have a letter Joshua wrote in April, 1845 to his son, GABRIEL COX, in Georgia referring to this case. We have several people researching the family of Joshua Cox and this would be another piece in the puzzle..........Thanks, Gail
