Levi also served in the CSA and was captured and held prisoner in Elmira, NY. In my heart all along I've known that Levi is the elder Daniel's son because once that family came to Hall they all lived together in one little cluster and Levi named his eldest son Daniel and I've since found that Mary, Mother of the Daniel and Levi we speak of, was the daughter of Levi Phillips. She was the Mother of eight and I can only find seven by the time the census names the children as well as the head of the household and by then Levi is gone from home. Thanks for your kind response.
