    3. Grace, There is a William Stancell listed as a private in Company G, 12th SC Infantry Regiment. It says "dead" next to his name which means he would have died before May 1898. I have seen some in the book that had dead next to their names who were actually alive. I also found the following men on the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. The units they are in are mostly Pickens District men. W.M. Stancel, private, Co. B, 1st SC State Troops L.M. Stancel, private, Co. F, 22nd SC Infantry John M. Stancil, private, Co. F, 22nd SC Infantry H. Stancell, private, Co. F, 22nd SC Infantry Ronnie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amazin' Gracie's Genes" <mygenes@alltel.net> To: <SCPICKEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 20, 2003 8:29 PM Subject: [SCPICKENS] Rebels In Grey (Not a Subscriber) > > > Do you find William Stancil/Stansell? > > Grace S. 3. The W. M. Stancel is probably the one I was looking for. He did die in the war. Thank you for your look up. I appreciate you!
