Hi My greatgrandfather, John Greenshields, was killed in a pit accident, details of which my relations haven't a clue. All I have to go on was that he lived in Lesmahagow and in Douglas. Grandfather was born in 1893, so the accident must have been after that and could have just involved him and therefore not classed as a pit disaster. It might help if anyone could give me a pointer to the pits in operation in that area and if they kept records. Thank you Jean Spendlove
