    1. [McMines] DUNSMORE/DUNSMUIR in Lanark
    2. Pam Thomson
    3. Hi , I'm also a DUNSMORE descendant from Barony, LKS. My family is full of men named John DUNSMORE/DUNSMUIR with connections to Cadder, Shettleston, Carlene and Barony and Govan. I have email addresses for 3 others who have an interest in this family in this area and will pass them on to anyone who contacts me. Here is some information I was given- it came from the Spring 1994 issue of the Glasgow & West of Scotland Family History Society - "A Dunsmuir (used interchangeably with Dunsmore in the article) family who worked in coal pits can be traced from around the beginning of the 18th century around the eastern and southern environs of Glasgow: Barony parish, Old and New Monkland, to Eastwood, and possibly into Ayrshire. Robert Dunsmuir, sometime in Shettleston, had three children, Robert John and Janet. Robert Jr. married Janet Provand in 1702, and John married Christian Donald in 1710....numerous descendants in Old Monkland and at Pollokshaws."
