I'm new to the list, and I'm researching the name KIRSOP. Edward Kirsop was born in Alston, Cumberland in 1781, his father was a (presumably lead) miner, and Edward moved to Strontian Argyll and married Margaret Cameron in 1805. He had become Overseer of Mines in Strontian, Argyll by 1814. He lived at one stage in Scotstown. Any information on KIRSOPS, or sources of information on the mining activities aiound Strontian very welcome! Alan Bird
