Hi Listers, I am interested to know if there are any records that might give me further information about my great great greatgrandfather who was a Manager of Ironstone mines in 1851 probably in Auchinleck, Ayrshire. Previously, he had been a miner in Airdrie and also an engine-keeper and then he and his family moved to Auchinleck. He was Robert DUNSMORE b 1810 in Barony, Lanarkshire and he married Penuel BAILLIE ( spelling Penwall in OPR) in 1833 in New Monklands. His father was also Robert Dunsmore b.1784 in Barony Parish, Lanarkshire and was a collier in Faskine,Greenend and Gunnie and in 1851 was described as Controller of Mines. Any information about the DUNSMOREs or the mines they were invoved with would be very welcome.
