Hullo Fellow Researchers, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome to the new list. Firstly, why such a list? Well, probably like a lot of you, I've been a subscriber to the Coalminers List (& still am) but most of the posts on that list whilst they're of interest are not really doing much to advance my research. A few other researchers had expressed the desire to see a Scottish Mining list so we set one up. At some point in the very near future, we'll have some associated WebPages of useful pertinent research information, & with your co-operation, an online database of members' research interests & contact details. I hope you find this new list of benefit to you & your research, There are a number of very knowledgeable list members that are most helpful & willing to help other researchers. If you can contribute or assist other members then please do. All of the messages ever sent to the list are archived and can be searched for the surnames that interest you. The search URL is: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Remember that in most cases your messages should be addressed to the entire list at [email protected] That way everyone gets the benefit of your questions and any answers you receive. Thanks for joining our group. If you have any suggestions or ideas on improving the list, please let me know. It's YOUR list and will flourish if we all contribute. We look forward to helping you with your research. If you have any questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact me for help on list related matters, however all research matters should be addressed through the list.
