Hi, I am new to this list and I hope someone can help or at least offer advice. My 3xgreat grandmother was married twice. Her name was JANE and she was born in Cheshire in 1837. Her first husband was '*** SCOTT'. JANE and her first husband had two children, THOMAS SCOTT born 1862 in Liverpool and JOHN SCOTT born 1865 also in Liverpool. So I calculate that the couple were probably married briefly between 1855 and 1862. By the information on the 1871 census Jane had remarried my 3Xgreat grandfather Edwin Pollitt, a police constable. I have been able to follow Thomas and John and know who they married, the names of their children etc. But I don't know their fathers first name, or their mother's maiden name. I have tried looking for a Thomas or John snr but I am not having any luck so far. Can anyone offer any advice as to what steps I can take. Or better still, does anyone recognise this family.
