My g-g-g-g-grandmother Agnes SCOTT [died 1791] was the daughter of JOHN SCOTT and MARION BAILLIE of Belford, in the parish of Morebattle, county Roxburgh, Scotland. JOHN SCOTT'S father was CHARLES SCOTT who was the second son of SIR JOHN SCOTT the first baronet of Ancrum. These details come from a book I have called "The House of Cockburn" published in 1880. I am trying to find out more about Agnes's family Agnes married THOMAS COCKBURN [1723-1787] on 3rd Dec 1752 in Edinburgh. He was Deputy Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland and I have details of most of their descendants. If anyone is connected to this Scott family I would be pleased to hear from them.
