    3. I found a little information on Robert T. Scott, the founder of Scottsboro, AL and thought it might be of interest to someone. He is not in my line of Scotts. This is from "The Heritage of Jackson County, Alabama" pub. 1998. Robert T. Scott was born in Greenwill Co., NC on Dec. 1, 1800. He married Elizabeth Ann Parsons of Moven, NC. He moved to Bellefonte in 1834 where he purchased a large farm and hotel-tavern which he named "Belle's Tavern" after his wife, Elizabeth. He was elected to the AL Legislature from Jackson Co. in 1836; circuit clerk in 1838 and to state legislature again in 1839. He and his wife came to Scottsboro between 1850 and 1853, where he built a home on Backbone Ridge calling it "The White Cottage". Robert died June 18, 1863, Elizabeth died 10 years later (b.Oct. 6, 1809-d.Oct. 13, 1873), and they are buried in the family cemetery on Backbone Ridge.
