My SCOTT brickwall would be to prove my Horace is the son of Edmund SCOTT who came from Waterbury, CT to Madison County, WI late 1700's. My Horace M SCOTT b. 1798, NY lived Bridgewater, Oneida Co., NY 1830 & 1840 he married Betsy ______ and 1820 before moving to Oneida Co., the lived in Nigara, NY. The couple had the following children: Edmund b. 1821 NY Charles E. b. ?? NY Albert b. abt 1836, NY d. MT married Mary BOND, Rock Co., WI and they migrated to Cass Co., ND one daughter, Ida who married Ahimaaz WOOD. John H. b. 1837, married 1. Alice one child, Edward b. abt 1878 2. Myrna/Myrta STARKS two children: John N. & Harry H. both born in Chicago. (John's sister Almira my 2nd great grandmother married Harry H. Scott who is father to this Myrna/Myrta. Myrna's parents were Carolyn & Harry H. STARKS. Carolyn is buried in Sauk Co., WI Almira V. b. 1840, NY, married 1. Isaac Newton Jeffers 3 children, William W. b. 1865, Sauk Co., WI, Francis b. abt 1862, WI?? or IA???, Newton I. b. 1867, Linn Co., WI d. Plymouth Co., IA 1905-07. marr 2. Harry H. Starks at Sauk Co., WI and they migrated to Monticello, Jones Co., IA where they are buried. Almira and Isaac were my 2nd great grandparents. Some trees have placed this Horace Scott from Chenango Co., as my the son of Edmund but he was born in MA and he lived there in Chenango until his death, I do not think this is Edmund's son and I wish I could find proof of my Horace as son of Edmund Scott of Brookfield, Madison Co., NY. Horace and his children came to Rock Co., WI about 4 years after his wife Betsy passed away which was when Almira was 4 yrs old according to her obit and Almira was born 1840, NY.
