    3. I promised myself that this will be the year that I crack this - and with your help I just might do that. I'm looking for Robert SCOTT born Philadelphia c 1854 son of Robert Hill SCOTT, stonemason. And Christopher SCOTT born 1845-1847 Ireland, son of Robert SCOTT, joiner. (Although he also described him as a millwright.) Both are in England on the 1881 census. Robert died before the 1891 census, but Christopher is there. He married Robert's widow the same year - they lived in the same street in Salford, Lancashire. Christopher is on the 1901 census but died later that year. I have nothing on Christopher before 1874 and the earliest I have info on Robert is 1876. I'd really like any of the following if you kind listers can assist....please? Either of them on any census before 1881 - the Salford/Manchester area is a likely place although they could still be in Ireland or Philly. Family lore has the Robert was in Canada (I know, not helpful). A baptism for either of them - although Christopher is my main concern. Any reference to either before 1874 and 1876. Additional info which may or may not be true - Christopher was 'Scottish' - haven't quite worked that one out yet. Christopher was also Protestant, not Catholic (and I know that is true - he was buried as a 'Dissenter'. There's a connection with the flax industry. I'm really stumped with this line - I've pursues almost everything I can especially with Christopher - who has covered his tracks so well I'm sure he was in some kind of witness protection programme. Many thanks in advance Maggie
