I've been looking for a John Scott who lived in Bedford County and Campbell County, Virginia. His daughter Amy married John Littlepage in 1785. John was the son of John's second wife, Elizabeth Mathews Littlepage, widow of Richard Littlepage of Brunswick County who died in Bedford County in 1780. I suspect that Richard's mother was an Eppes, but have NO proof. Richard and Elizabeth had a son named Epps Littlepage. John and Amy Scott Littlepage had a son named Eppes Littlepage. Does anyone know anything about the connection to the Eppes family? There was an earlier John Scott who was the son of John Scott and Bethyer Boyce Scott. That John Scott married Amy Goodwyn and had two sons, John and Thomas. He, unfortunately, died quite young. Amy married Isham Eppes and raised a family with him. Since my John Scott had a daughter named Amy (not a common name back then) I have often wondered if there was a connection - especially since Amy and her father then married into a family where there was a child named Epps. (John married the mother and Amy married that mother's son.) One source I found thought yes - another no. JOHN SCOTT married first ___________ ___________ d. 1795 1) AMY SCOTT LITTLEPAGE b. @1765 2) PLEASANT SCOTT b. @1766 3) MARY SCOTT HUSE 4) NANCY SCOTT DUFFEE b. @1769 5) SALLY SCOTT MORTON b. @1770 married second ELIZABETH (MATHEWS) LITTLEPAGE @ 1780 b. 1742 d. bef 1829 6) PATTY (MARTHA) SCOTT CARWILE b. 1780 7) MATHEW COBB SCOTT b. 1783 d. 1852 Does anyone know anything about this John Scott?
