Hello Helen I note in your email of 11 March that you have a David Ross Scott born 1861. My line back through my paternal grandmother has a Ross family. My g'mother was a Baxter. In 1800 a son, George Ross Baxter was born to Hannah Wallace Ross, who was born in 1781. HWR's parents were Charles Ross, a Wright in Dundee and Jean Nicoll. I do not have any more dates going into the past for these people. I note that Caputh is not many miles from Dundee. Does any of this ring any bells.
