I am still researching William Simon Scott born circa 1844 and his brother Peyton Lewis Scott born circa 1855. Have hit a major brick wall and I am stumped. William shows up in the 1880 Dyer County TN. census records with wife Ann Eliza (King) Scott. Dyer County TN. marraige records say they were married in 1874 in Dyer County TN. I cannot find William in the Dyer County TN. 1870 census records so he must have came to Dyer County from parts unknown around that time. Family legend also says he may have had a brother Alfred. I am not 100% sure that Peyton was his brother as I cannot connect these two together in a census report. Family legend says Peyton was his brother and both are buried in the same cemetary so I assume he is. Peyton died in early 1900's and his family moved to Texas. Peyton's family say they came from possibly KY. I have searched KY over to no avail. William Simon Scott death certificate says he was born in TN and that his fathers name was William Simon Sco! tt also. Any help, ideas, comments or info are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for your time.
