David b. 1791 in Pennsylvania. Bought land in Belmont County in 1820. Sold everything and moved to Des Moines County, Iowa, in 1839. Catharine disappears from the Iowa records between Feb and Nov 1847. Bible account says David died 12 Aug 1866, but location uncertain. May have accompanied son William to California. Seems to have had some relationship to descendants of an Andrew SCOTT who moved to Hamilton County, Ohio, from Redstone, Pennsylvania. Also some association with Mary Ann JACOBS (maiden name possibly WALLACE, widow of Cyrus S. JACOBS, may have remarried Adam FAHNESTOCK) at one time in Des Moines County, Iowa, and relocating to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after death of husband. STARKEY in Belmont County, Ohio; died there 21 Jun 1861. William, b. 29 Mar 1815, married Elizabeth GRAY in Belmont County, Ohio, d. bef. 10 Oct 1867, Stockton, San Joaquin Co., California. Andrew, b. 30 Nov 1816, married (1) Eliza Jane RIGGS in Des Moines County, Iowa, d. 3 Dec 1885, Polk twp., Adair Co., Missouri. John, b. abt. 1818, married Temperance LORTON in Des Moines County, Iowa, moved to Clear Creek Co., Colorado, death unknown. David Jr., b. abt. 1820, married Elizabeth BARNES in Des Moines County, Iowa, settled in Missouri. Martha J., b. 23 Apr 1822, married James MINKS in Des Moines County, Iowa, pioneered Boulder, Boulder Co., Colorado, d. 29 Sep 1896 in Louisville, Boulder, Colorado. Samuel, b. abt. 1826, married Amanda C. STAHL in Des Moines County, Iowa, death unknown. Mary Jane, b. abt. 1832, probably married Abraham ROSEBOOM in Des Moines County, Iowa, death unknown.
